外交部發言人高安今（12）日表示，經駐外館處確認，20多名受困肯亞機場的旅客，目前安全無恙。

因肯亞機場大火後，影響航班調度，台灣旅客兩團共25人原本預計從所在地「尚比亞」轉「肯亞」後回台，目前滯留在尚比亞機場附近五星飯店，等候班機。旅行社表示，由於原本負責「尚比亞-肯亞」航段的肯亞航空兩度取消登機，引起團員不滿，目前希望尋求其他航空協助，透過第三地轉機回台。針對肯亞航空將不再提供滯留旅客食宿，旅行社也表示將負起安置責任，請旅客家屬安心。
晴天旅行社副總蕭世華表示，晴天7月23日出發的「東非五國之旅17日」含領隊共11名旅客，原本預計在8月7日從尚比亞返回肯亞奈洛比，當日卻獲知無法搭機，晴天隨即承擔全團人員住宿，直到8月9日肯亞航空仍無法提供接駁奈洛比航班，肯航開始提供8月9、10日住宿，並允諾8月11日即可提供全員搭乘。但11日全員抵達機場時，肯航表示機位調度有問題，仍無法提供機位，並拒絕再給予住宿協助，晴天隨即安排團員住宿，目前全團安置在尚比亞李文斯敦機場附近The David Livingstone Safari Lodge飯店，等候航空公司通知。
蕭世華指出，肯亞奈洛比機場是進出東非的航空樞紐，因當地時間8月7日發生大火，影響航班調度，又因7、8月動物大遷徙期間為當地旅遊旺季，目前奈洛比機場長程國際線起降沒有問題，但從尚比亞、辛巴威等非洲鄰國飛肯亞的班機因機型較小，無法消化從世界而來的旅客，且肯亞航空兩度取消機位，歸心似箭的團員期待落空，衍伸不滿情緒。
外交部與觀光局致電旅行社，表示希望提供協助，旅行社目前透過外交部駐南非管道，期望尋求中東籍航空公司協助，藉由南非、衣索比亞等非洲其他地區返台。
