衣索比亞少女成年禮　下唇裝盤越大越美

衣索比亞蘇里族（Suri）的少女成年時，都須接受一項儀式才算正式成年，她們得拔除下排2顆牙齒，並在下唇切開一個洞，接著裝上一塊陶盤，陶盤會隨著時間慢慢變大，以讓下唇隨之伸展，下唇裝上盤子在當地被視為是美的象徵，盤子越大表示女孩越美。
 
而且下唇的盤子越大的話，結婚時父親就能要求更多乳牛當聘金，通常小盤子可收到40頭乳牛，大盤子則可收到60頭，不過由於拔牙切唇必須承受莫大痛苦，近年來有不少少女拒絕進行這項儀式。
 
另一方面，男孩成年時，則是用植物和泥土混合成的顏料，由長老在身上彩繪。 （周佩萱／綜合報導）
