前桃園縣副縣長葉世文涉貪，重創桃園縣政府及積極尋求連任的縣長吳志揚形象，吳志揚今（5）日接受飛碟電台主持人唐湘龍專訪時表示，這對於年底選舉當然有很大的影響，是一次非常沈重的重大考驗，他感到非常自責，也是無法逃避的責任，但將會勇敢面對。

吳志揚表示，事情發生後，他立即反省、警惕自己，如何面對、接受，以及處理接下來的問題，尤其讓自己個人的人品、道德更受人肯定，同時也調整縣政團隊，讓每個人各司其職，能有最好的發揮，如果在這個時候還去想誰會因此從中得利，那是毫無意義的事情。

吳志揚表示，這起事件對於年底的選舉當然有很大影響，但也希望能藉此更認真地面對人生可能遇到的問題，以毅力、智慧去處理，並且讓各界更加認識吳志揚，進而贏得信賴與支持。

吳志揚還說，事情發生至今，並沒有接到總統馬英九、行政院長江宜樺等長官的電話，而自己身為下屬，則會在事情釐清之後，主動向長官報告、說明，並對於住宅政策的看法提供長官參考。
