美聯社11日向華盛頓特區地方法院控告美國國務院，強迫國務院公布希拉蕊．柯林頓在國務卿任內的電郵往來和政府文件。

美聯社過去一再依據「美國資訊自由法案」要求國務院公布這些文件，國務院都未理會。美聯社5年前就要求過一次，2013年夏天以來也多次要求。

美聯社要求的文件包括希拉蕊的公開和私人行程、涉及長期幕僚的信件，以及與突擊賓拉丹和國家安全局監聽情事有關的希拉蕊相關電郵。
