花東鐵路電氣化今正式通車

花東鐵路電氣化上午正式在台東通車，並開出首班普悠瑪號，總統馬英九致詞時表示，花東鐵路電氣化工程開工以來，已經來看過六次，每次來都對著台東民眾道歉，這次來終於可以不用道歉了。他對著江揆說，「這不是民眾的小確幸，而是民眾的大確幸」。花東鐵路電氣化後，搭乘時間可以縮短一個小時，最快從台北到台東只要三個半小時。

花東鐵路電氣化正式通車，今明兩天讓弱勢團體搭車體驗，7月1日至15日試營運，台鐵局長周永暉表示，16日之後17組普悠瑪號將全數投入營運，區間車也從15列次增加至18列次，讓台北到台東距離不再這麼遙遠。
