24V 5050 LED燈條接電容與二極體

各位前輩好
我有一條240cm長的12V 5050 單色LED燈條
它是每公尺60個燈，240cm共144個單位的燈
之前商家叫我直接裝一個12V 3A的變壓器
但是用久之後，接電源的那頭開始發黃
之後變壓器就一直掛掉換新掛掉換新

之前我自己買24V 30cm 5050 LED 單色燈條時
有查到網路資料要加裝電容與二極體1N4004

請問我12V 5050 單色LED燈條
是否也要加裝電容與二極體來保護整個線路呢？
這樣的話我要搭配哪種規格的電容與二極體呢？
